INTRODUCTION

Fire Fighting foam bladder tank is used for providing foam solution for foam system. It is the source of foam in foam based fire fighting system.

Foam bladder tank consists of pressure tank, rubber bladder, proportioner, control valves, and pipelines. Pressurized water is needed to swap out foam concentrate from bladder in the tank as a certain proportion. Foam concentrate then mix with pressurized water and become foam solution. There is feed inlet to refill or change foam concentrate for the tank.

OPERATION

1. Fill Foam Concentrate

1. Open bladder vent valve, water drainage valve and tank vent valve, close water inlet valve and foam outlet valve.

2. Fill foam concentrate slowly from foam drainage pipe with a foam pump.

3. Stop the pump now and then to avoid bursting the bladder. Foam concentrate should come from the same manufacturer and the same type.

4. Close foam drainage valve when finished filling foam concentrate. Close water drainage valve, tank vent valve and bladder vent valve. Open water drainage valve 30 minutes later, if there is no foam flow out from water drainage pipe, it indicates the bladder is undamaged.

1. Operation of The Device

• Start water pump to supply pressurized water for the tank (biggest working pressure is 1.2MPa)
• Open water inlet valve and foam outlet valve to supply foam concentrate to proportioner, keep all other valves closed.
• Close water inlet valve and foam outlet valve to stop supply foam concentrate when finished working.
• Keep the pump working for a more while to wash pipeline with fresh water.
• Stop the pump, open tank vent valve and bladder vent valve to relieve pressure. Then close all the valves to set the tank in standby mode.
• Open water drainage valve to drain away water when the tank need to refill.
